AS IT UNFOLDS AROUND YOU!
Joseph Walker, early explorer and Bridgeport Valley pioneer, arrived in 1833. Bridgeports Walker River bears his name.
1849-1900
Every Autumn Bridgeport Gun Club hosts Bridgeports Mountain Man Rendezvous. Rub shoulders with fur trading mountain men. Wander through teepees and trade tents. Palaver with buckskin clad traders peddling handcrafted firearms, knives, tools, buckskins, and beaded moccasins.
Enjoy live music and eat Buffalo Barbecue. Enter a Marksmanship Competition firing flintlock or percussion rifles. Listen to tales of true adventure & bask in the warmth of a moonlit council fire. Experience Western History as it unfolds around you.
A view of Trout filled Walker River, from its foot bridge, looking toward Bridgeports skate pond. Many a lovely sunset has been witnessed behind us. A three minute stroll from charming & historic Bodie Victorian Hotel.
